1. Introduction

  • Communication: Modbus-RTU slave over RS485 (default) or RS232.
  • Power input: 5–36 VDC, reverse-polarity protected.
  • Operating range: -40 °C to +85 °C, 35 mm DIN rail or screw mounting.
  • Channels: 2× opto-isolated DI, 2× SPDT relay DO for both models; Y301-222 adds 2× AI.
  • Addressing: Software slave address (1–255) plus optional DIP offset (0–31) on supported revisions.

2. System Overview

  • DI support dry/wet contacts with 5–255 ms debounce and 32-bit pulse counting.
  • DO are SPDT relays (AC 277 V / 10 A, DC 28 V / 10 A) with optional soft/power retention.
  • AI (Y301-222) accept per-channel 0–10 V, 0–5 V, or 4–20 mA with 16-bit resolution.
  • LED indicators show power, heartbeat, DI states, DO states, and serial TX/RX activity.
  • Reload push button (if equipped) restores defaults after a 3–15 s hold.

3. Hardware Interfaces

  • Power: V+/V− screw pair plus 5.5 × 2.1 mm DC jack.
  • DI block: COM+, COM−, DI1–DI2 (dry loop via COM+; wet input 5–36 V referenced to COM−).
  • DO block: NO/COM/NC per relay (DO1, DO2).
  • AI block (Y301-222): AI− plus V+/I+ per channel, voltage and current inputs mutually exclusive.
  • Communication: RS485 A/B/GND or RS232 TX/RX/GND share the same 3-position terminal.
  • DIP switch: 5-bit Modbus address offset (ON = 1) on models that include the switch.

4. Electrical Specifications

  • Supply: 5–36 VDC, typical draw 120 mA @12 V, max 180 mA with relays engaged.
  • Digital Inputs: 2 channels, <5 mA each, 100 Hz sampling, 5–36 V wet threshold.
  • Digital Outputs: 2 SPDT relays, AC 277 V / 10 A or DC 28 V / 10 A, <10 ms pickup, <5 ms release, 100 k cycles.
  • Analog Inputs (Y301-222): 2 channels, 0–10 V / 0–5 V / 4–20 mA, ±1% FS accuracy, 16-bit resolution, 10 Hz sampling per channel.

5. Modbus Communication Parameters

  • Addressing: Holding register 40063 (1–255). DIP offset adds 0–31 for quick staging.
  • Baud Rate: 600–230400 bps (default 9600) via register 40088.
  • Frame: Standard Modbus-RTU with CRC16.
  • Supported Function Codes: 0x01, 0x02, 0x03, 0x04 (Y301-222 AI), 0x05, 0x06, 0x0F, 0x10.
  • Automation Registers: Begin at PLC 40129 (0x0080); each rule uses 16 bytes.
  • Pulse Counters: PLC 41281 and 41283 map to DI1/DI2 counts (write zero to clear).
  • Special Register: 0x0800 write 0x5500 to reboot, 0x0055 to restore defaults.

6. Configuration Workflow

  1. Connect via HYToolBox, Modbus Poll, or any RTU master.
  2. Discover devices with broadcast address 0 if required; set unique base address (40063).
  3. Adjust baud/parity/stop bits using registers 40088–40092 to match network settings.
  4. Configure debounce (40067) and pulse edge (40066) to fit DI signal behavior.
  5. Select DO retention mode (40065) when relay states must survive reset.
  6. Program automation rules as 16-byte blocks from register 0x0080 upward (two rules per DO).
  7. Store device name, heartbeat payload, and broadcast mode if SCADA identification is needed.

7. Automation & Linkage Rules

  • Mode list matches firmware table: DI Follow, Reverse, Pulse, Delay On/Off, Cycle, Timer, Daily schedule, AI threshold (Y301-222), Button, Watchdog, Logic.
  • Two rules per DO (total four). Evaluate rules in ascending register order to avoid conflicts.

8. Wiring Guidelines

  • Power: 22–18 AWG with upstream 1–2 A fuse; keep runs short.
  • DI: Dry = COM+ through switch to DI. Wet = external 5–36 V to DI with COM− return.
  • DO: Add snubbers (AC) or flyback diodes (DC) on inductive loads; respect relay ratings.
  • AI (Y301-222): Voltage mode uses V+ to field signal and AI− return. Current mode wires loop source → I+ → AI−; keep only one mode active per channel.
  • RS485: Shielded twisted pair with 120 Ω termination at both ends; share reference ground across nodes.

9. Diagnostics & Maintenance

  • LED meanings: POWER steady = supply OK; WORK blink = heartbeat; DI/DO LEDs mirror channel states; TX/RX blink with traffic.
  • Reload button resets configuration while preserving DIP offset.
  • Semiannual checks: tighten terminals, inspect insulation, verify Modbus error counters.
